    • The invention relates to a re-usage closure (40;71;91), for a container, that conveniently provides a user with control over access to the contents of the container. The closure (40; 71; 91) comprises a closure member to (45; 93) and a key member (45; 94). The closure member (45; 93) includes an opening (51) formed in communication with a concealed sealing member (52; 73). The sealing member (52; 73) is moveable between a closed position towards which it is resiliently biased and an open position. The opening (51) defines a conduit (53) for either dispensing the contents of the container (30) or adding contents to the container (30). The closure member (45; 93) also includes and access channel (54; 97) in communication with the sealing member (52; 73). The key member (45; 94) includes an engagement portion (56) that is co-operate with the access channel (54; 97}, whereby the engagement portion (56) is moveable within the access channel (54; 97), so as to move the sealing member (52; 73) into the open position, when the closure member (45; 93) and the key member (45; 94) are releasably engaged together.

    • A bottle closure comprises a valved insert comprising a housing 11 and a valve member 17 which is initially biassed by a spring 18 into a closed condition. Insertion of a measure dispenser spigot moves the member 17 into an open condition. Removal of the spigot, causes the member 17 to move into a closed condition. The member carries a spindle 30 which co-operates in pawl and ratchet manner with pawls 32 which prevent movement into the open condition. This pawl and ratchet detent is initially ineffective since the pawls are held out of co-operation by a bush 31 which is a tight frictional fit on the spindle and during an opening movement is held so the spindle slides through it but on a subsequent closing movement is held by the spindle and drawn out from the pawls so releasing them. Thus the bottle cannot be re-used once on a measure dispenser.
      Other embodiments show a valve member co-operating with other movable parts to form a sleeve valve which is initially locked open by a detent but closes as a result of an initial opening movement and subsequent closing movement.
      Various refinements are shown.
