    • The present invention provides a human form child car seat comprising: (a) a seat body having (i) a generally human body head and arm shape, including a seat wall and a backrest wall; (ii) a front seat side; (iii) a back side; (iv) a top side; (v) bottom side; (vi) a left side; and (vii) a right side; (b) a top side concave-shaped head support, the head support capable of cradling a juvenile head comprising (i) a left side head support and (ii) a right side head support; (c) a left arm rest and a right arm rest, each having a generally human arm shape, the arm rest terminating in a cup holder having a generally human first shape, the cup holder capable of receivably accepting a geometrically shaped object; and a seat base.     • The invention provides a safety belt adjuster (20) for use with a three-point safety belt system (10) of the kind having a shoulder belt portion (14) and a lap belt portion (12) for adjusting the orientation of the shoulder belt portion for use by a child. The safety belt adjuster comprises a pair of panels (22,24) arranged face-to-face and secured together in a central region (28) to provide outside the central region two passageways (32,34) for receiving respectively the shoulder belt portion and the lap belt portion of the safety belt system. The adjuster further comprises fastening means (46,48) for closing each passageway about the respective belt portion.

    • The restraint (210) device includes an open ended tubular guide member (215) which is generally cylindrical or elliptical in cross-section and in which the interior surfaces (235) of the tubular member define a longitudinal passageway for receiving and engaging portions of both the shoulder harness (S) and lap portions (6) of a three-point vehicular restraint system. The guide member (215) exerts a laterally displacing force on the shoulder harness portion (S) of a three-point restraint system to re-orient the shoulder belt for use by adults of relatively small stature or children. In this manner, the repositioning of the shoulder belt (S) for use by children in particular may be accomplished without adversely displacing the relative position of the lap belt (L) particularly during impact conditions. The advantages of the restraint device are accomplished without adversely affecting the automatic adjustment capabilities of the existing automotive restraint apparatus or without requiring extensive modifications to the existing restraint.
