摘要： A molding apparatus and method of injection, compression or otherwise molding a closure (76) having projections (78) extending inwardly from a skirt (80) of the closure includes a plurality of slides (20) for movement obliquely with respect to an inner mold core (18). A ring (86) contacts the closure and surrounds the slides (20). Movement of the ring (86) relative to the mold core (18) results in the movement of the closure which moves the slides (20) to disengage recesses (74) on the slides (20). The recesses (74) are used to form the projections (78) on the closure. The ring (86) contacts the closure and advances the closure away from the mold core (18). The projections (78) seated within the recesses (74) on the slides (20) move the slides (20) obliquely relative to the mold core (18) and ultimately disengage the recesses (74) from the projections (78) thereby releasing the closure from the mold. The movement of the slides (20) is independent from the movement of the ring (86) so that complicated mechanisms for movement of the slides (20) are not required according to this invention.

摘要： Vibratory welded connections are formed between first and second members ( 32, 33 ) of thermoplastic material by interposing a junction piece ( 47 ) of similar material and vibrating the junction piece ( 47 ) at high speed while pressing the first second members ( 32,33 ) in a controlled manner against opposite sides of the junction piece ( 47 ). Friction created by the vibration generates heat which melts a small amount of material at the engaging surfaces which upon cooling provides a strong welded joint having minimal flash. Entire frame systems such as window-frames can be fabricated by an apparatus system ( 120 ) which forms a friction welded joint between adjacent ends of the frame members ( 134, 135, 136, 137 ). Furthermore the frame can be fabricated around a panel such as a glazing panel. The welded connections formed by the system do not mar the finish of the frame members and produce no unsightly flash bead requiring subsequent machining steps for its removal.
