摘要： A wall and/or floor tile (10) comprises a container element (1) and a filling material (2) disposed inside the container element and constituted by a polymeric material having a Shore D hardness of between 55 and 85, preferably 75, and a setting time, at ambient temperature, of between 5 and 15 minutes, preferably 10 minutes. The filling material (2) is produced from a multi-component material, preferably a two-component material. An apparatus (20) for the production of a wall and/or floor tile (10) comprises at least one supply head (22) provided with injector means (24) having separate supply circuits (26, 28) for each of the multiple components. The filling material (2) is supplied into the container element (1) in controlled manner by a single nozzle (30) for mixing the multiple components, in order to form the wall and/or floor tile (10).

摘要： A high pressure phenolic resin is impingement mixed with a low pressure acid stream in a mixing head (1) to form a phenolic insulating foam reactant mixture. The mixing head has two oppositely directed high pressure inlet ports (2, 3) each connected to a phenolic resin stream at a pressure of at least 140 bar. Acid at a pressure of about 3 bar is drawn into the mixing head (1) through an inlet port (6). The mixing head (1) may be mounted on a lay-down traversing poker (10) to form a phenolic insulating body such as a composite panel.

摘要： Elastomer composites are produced by novel continuous flow methods and apparatus in which fluid streams of particulate filler and elastomer latex are fed to the mixing zone of a coagulum reactor to form a mixture in semi-confined flow continuously from the mixing zone through a coagulum zone to a discharge end of the reactor. The particulate filler fluid is fed under high pressure to the mixing zone, such as to form a jet stream to entrain elastomer latex fluid sufficiently energetically to substantially completely coagulate the elastomer with the particulate filler prior to the discharge end. Highly efficient and effective elastomer coagulation is achieved without the need for a coagulation step involving exposure to acid or salt solution or the like. Novel elastomer composites are produced. Such novel elastomer composites may be cured or uncured, and combine material properties, such as choice of filler, elastomer, level of filler loading, and macro-dispersion, not previously achieved.

摘要： Elastomer composite blends are produced by novel wet/dry mixing methods and apparatus. In the wet mixing step or stage, fluid streams of particulate filler and elastomer latex are fed to the mixing zone of a coagulum reactor to form a mixture in semi-confined flow continuously from the mixing zone through a coagulum zone to a discharge end of the reactor. The particulate filler fluid is fed under high pressure to the mixing zone, such as to form a jet stream to entrain elastomer latex fluid sufficiently energetically to substantially completely coagulate the elastomer with the particulate filler prior to the discharge end. Highly efficient and effective elastomer coagulation is achieved without the need for a coagulation step involving exposure to acid or salt solution or the like. Elastomer composites are produced. Such elastomer composites may be cured or uncured, and combine material properties, such as choice of filler, elastomer, level of filler loading, and macro-dispersion, not previously achieved. The coagulum produced by such wet mixing step, with or without intermediate processing steps, is then mixed with additional elastomer in a dry mixing step or stage to form elastomer composite blends. The additional elastomer to the coagulum may be the same as or different from the elastomer(s) used in the wet mixing step.

摘要： A reaction injection molding machine provides for independent spring (18,145) actuation of pistons (74,147) in metering cylinders (76,86). Individual compression of the springs is provided by hand screw compression mechanisms (20,140). The pressure level of the liquid in each metering cylinder is adjusted to a desired level of pressurization by the total energy transferred to the springs. Impingement mixing of liquid streams from each metering cylinder is synchronized by a valving rod (58) which includes a plurality of mixing heads (92a-92b). Upon appropriate positioning, a mixing head opens an orifice from each metering cylinder to allow streams of liquid to be expelled into impinging contact. The resultant product is directed by the mixing head into a separate collection vessel associated with that mixing head where the product may react and solidify.
