摘要： A custom phase plate for a light beam of wavelength "λ" includes a sheet of plastic material having a base refractive index "n o ". Formed onto a surface of the sheet is a plurality of contiguous spots having different refractive indices. Together, the spots establish a diffraction pattern in a light beam that removes optical aberrations from the beam. Specifically, each spot has a selected Optical Path Difference (OPD) relative to the base index (n o ) that is equal to kλ/10 (for k = 1 to 10). Further, the OPD for each spot in the pattern is individually established by heating the plastic material with a laser beam of ultra-short pulses.

摘要： The present disclosure includes a method and system for applying markings on a food product by applying a radiant energy to the food product in such a manner to form a permanent marking thereon. These systems and methods include laser configurations that provide for optimal marking while minimizing the quantity of egg stabilizers needed. The present disclosure further includes systems and methods for using shutters to provide a safety shutter mechanism for preventing accidental laser beam escape when guards are removed in addition to protecting the lens. The disclosure also has the benefit of preventing machinery damage, improving machinery performance and play a vital part in achieving predictable performance which is essential to safe operation of the radiant energy source. The present disclosure also includes methods and systems for protecting ink cartridges used in egg carton printing.

摘要： A system for forming a corneal implant includes a cutting apparatus, which includes a laser source that emits a laser and optical elements that direct the laser. The system includes a controller implemented with at least one processor and at least one data storage device. The controller generates a sculpting plan for modifying a first shape of a lenticule formed from corneal tissue and achieving a second shape for the lenticule to produce a corneal implant with a refractive profile to reshape a recipient eye. The sculpting plan is determined from measurements relating to the lenticule having the first shape and information relating to a refractive profile for a corneal implant. The controller controls the cutting apparatus to direct, via the one or more optical elements, the laser from the laser source to sculpt the lenticule according to the sculpting plan to produce the corneal implant with the refractive profile.
