摘要： Apparatus for securing a medical or surgical line with respect to a patient is described. In particular, a fastener is described comprising an elongate braided tubular sleeve (110) for receiving the line therethrough, the sleeve having a first end for fixing adjacent to the patient, in use, and a second end for arranging, in use, proximal to medical equipment coupled to the line. The fastener also includes a first substantially rigid collar (112) coupled to the sleeve at the first end of the sleeve and a second substantially rigid collar (114) coupled to the sleeve at the second end of the sleeve. An enlarged flange (116) is provided, secured to the first collar at the first end of the sleeve and an adhesive plaster (118) for securing the fastener with respect to a patient is provided, the adhesive plaster being secured to the enlarge flange. The longitudinal axis of the elongate braided tubular sleeve is arranged parallel to the plane of the adhesive plaster.

摘要： An intravenous line organizing system to be attached to patients to organize one or several IV lines, preventing entanglement and contamination by dragging on the floor, while allowing patient mobility. The hypoallergenic device can be strapped with a band around a patient's limb or torso, or adhered to the skin anywhere on the body. Each clip element allows one IV line to float freely through it. Each clip element rotates 360° and can move horizontally within a channel in the system, or it can be pushed into a locked position, preventing rotation and horizontal movement.

摘要： An anchoring system for securing an elongate medical article having a first branch and a second branch arranged in a Y-configuration, comprising an anchor pad having an upper surface and a lower surface, at least a portion of the lower surface being formed with an adhesive layer, and a retainer disposed on the upper surface of the anchor pad.
The retainer comprises a base having a groove to receive at least a portion of the elongate medical article, and a cover pivotally coupled to the base and movable between an open position in which the groove is exposed and a closed position in which the groove is covered. The cover cooperates with the groove when the cover is in the closed position to define a peripheral boundary of a channel. A post shaped retention mechanism member projects generally normal to the base and is disposed within the channel such that spaces are defined between two opposite sides of the post shaped retention mechanism member and the peripheral boundary of the channel for receiving the first and second branches of the medical article, respectively, the post being adapted to fit between the branches to inhibit longitudinal movement of the medical article in at least one longitudinal direction. The base and the cover include an interengaging structure which releasably secures together the base and the cover in the closed position.

摘要： An anchoring system secures a catheter to the body of a patient and arrests axial movement of the catheter without meaningfully impairing fluid flow through the catheter. The anchoring system includes an anchor pad that adheres to the patient's skin and supports a retainer. The retainer releasably receives a portion of the catheter and includes one or more retention mechanisms. The retention mechanisms inhibit axial movement of the catheter relative to the retainer when the catheter is secured therein. In one mode, the retention mechanism is positioned within a channel of the retainer and includes at least first and second members that project from opposite sides of the channel. The members are arranged to cooperate with one another when the cover is closed so as to capture a structural portion of the catheter between the first and second members without substantially occluding an inner lumen of the catheter.

摘要： An intravenous site protection device (10) is formed with a rigid, elongated top member (11) and a rigid elongated bottom member (12) which are oppositely secured on a patient's extremities such as an arm (13). The top member (11) is configured to accommodate a catheter (15) and supply tubing (16) to prevent accidental dislodgement during transportation or movement of the patient. Securing straps (22) maintain the top and bottom members (11 and 12) against the extremity of the wearer and a resilient sponge (19) is positioned beneath the top member (11), against the wearer's skin, to assure proper circulation to the intravenous site (14). The rigid plastic ensures protection of the intravenous site (14) should the site be struck or contacted with clothing or other articles during intravenous fluid transfer. The preferred form of the invention is made from a transparent plastic to allow ease in monitoring by medical personnel.

The advantage of using a ring element rather than a plate is that the contact area between the ring element and the skin is considerably less, which improves the hygiene of using the tracheotomy cannula. Furthermore, the ring element is more slender than a plate, which means that the tracheotomy cannula is less conspicuous in use.
