The method is characterized in that the value of the frictional force component (F0) is periodically updated throughout the infusion process by applying an equation that comprises a term that takes into account the measured force (F).

摘要： A method for operating an infusion device (1) for administering a medical fluid to a patient (P) comprises: pumping, using a pumping mechanism (11), a fluid in a downstream direction through a delivery line (3); measuring, using a sensor device (14), a measurement value indicative of a pressure in the delivery line (3) in order to be able detect, from a rise of the pressure beyond a predefined pressure threshold, the presence of an occlusion in the delivery line (3); and, in case of an occlusion, reversing the pumping mechanism (11) to pump fluid in an upstream direction opposite the downstream direction for reducing the pressure in the delivery line (3). Herein, for stopping the reverse pumping of the fluid in the upstream direction at least two criteria are applied and the reverse pumping is stopped if at least one of the at least two criteria is fulfilled, wherein as a first criteria it is determined whether the pressure in the delivery line (3) has fallen below a predetermined residual pressure threshold, and as a second criteria it is determined whether the volume pumped in the upstream direction during the reverse pumping action of the pumping mechanism (11) has reached a predetermined volume computed based on the predefined pressure threshold used for the occlusion detection. In this way a method for operating an infusion device for administering a medical fluid to a patient is provided which allows for a precise and reliable stopping of a reverse pumping in order to obtain a desired reduction in pressure in the delivery line in case of an occlusion.

摘要： A system for controlled delivery of medicinal fluid includes a fluid pathway assembly. The fluid pathway assembly has an inline flow sensor element received within the fluid pathway movable in response to fluid flowing in the fluid pathway. A flow control device is removably attached to the fluid pathway assembly and has a sensor for sensing a position of the inline flow sensor element in the fluid pathway, the position of the inline flow sensor element being representative of a second calculated fluid flow rate. The fluid pathway assembly includes a variable flow resistor adjustable to regulate a rate of fluid flow in the fluid pathway assembly. A drive mechanism attached to the flow control device is operably coupled to the variable flow resistor when the flow control device is attached to the fluid pathway assembly.

摘要： In an infusion pump operable to deliver fluid to a patient at a programmed therapy flow rate, air-in-line sensing is improved by commanding the pumping mechanism to deliver a bolus volume of fluid at a flow rate higher than the therapy flow rate when an uninterrupted volume of air is detected that exceeds a first threshold. In many cases, the bolus will be effective to clear microbubbles from an observation zone of the air-in-line sensor to avoid an air-in-line alarm condition. If the uninterrupted volume of air continues to grow beyond a second threshold in spite of the bolus, then an alarm may be triggered. The invention reduces false alarms.

摘要： An infusion pump device (10) comprises a primary reservoir (11) for the liquid medicament, a pump (14, 16) with a secondary reservoir (14) that is able to retrieve liquid medicament from the primary reservoir and to subsequently dosing said liquid medicament from the secondary reservoir in one or more portions of adjustable volume (V dose,i ) to a downstream conduit (25, 28), and a control unit configured to control the operation of the infusion pump device.
