    • A needleless connector (450) is provided which utilizes a resealable preslit septum valve (402). The valve (402) is resiliently restrained relative to a housing (418) with the valve and housing configured to accept a standard male luer lock having a luer tip (18) which penetrates the valve through the opening to extend within the housing and a luer locking flange of the luer lock extending about the housing. The valve (402) includes a disk shaped upper portion (404) covering the opening, a lower portion (406) spaced from the housing (418) and extending downward from the disk shaped portion into a passageway defined by the housing (418), and an annular skirt (408) to attach the septum to the housing. The connector (450) exhibits satisfactory leak pressure after multiple connections and disconnects to the luer lock fitting and long periods of indwell of the luer tip (18).

    • We disclose apparatus and methods for delivering for patient infusion or other use two or more fluids either sequentially or simultaneously. The apparatus (100) has a fluid delivery compartment (101) containing a first infusion fluid (103), a flexible membrane (104), and an openable bag (150) containing a second infusion fluid (152). An attached gas reaction compartment (121) contains chemical reactants (123, 134) which, when combined, react to evolve gas (122). The gas (122) expands a gas expansion chamber (102) causing the membrane (104) to move into the fluid delivery compartment (101), displacing the first infusion fluid (103). The membrane (104) eventually contacts and compresses the openable bag (150). Pressure from the membrane (104) causes the bag (150) to open and discharge its contents out of the infusion device (100).

    • The present invention relates to a method and to a device for separating blood present in a blood container (1) into components (34, 36, 35) by centrifuging the blood, and for transmitting at least one of three stratified components (34, 35) obtained by centrifugation in sterile fashion to a respective side container (2, 3) connected to the blood container (1) via a respective hose (4, 5). The fluid-actuatable displacement body (17) and the blood container (1) are placed in a cassette (12, 13) which, in turn, can be placed in a centrifuge cup (25). The displacement body (17) is in direct abutment with the blood container (1). The displacement body (17) surrounds half the blood container (1) and when fluid is delivered to the body, it will preferably expand, firstly at its lower part and then successively upwards. The cassette (12, 13) is preferably placed in one of two compartments (27) of an intermediate container (24), the other compartment (41) being intended to accommodate the side container (2 and 3 respectively).
