摘要： A solubilized notochordal cell matrix powder dissolved in a carrier solvent or formed as a gel is provided. The notochordal cell matrix powder originates from lyophilized and treated porcine nucleus pulposus tissue containing notochordal cells. The powder contains less than 20% of porcine nucleid acids, and the powder contains a substantially unchanged amount of porcine protein content compared to the originating porcine nucleus pulposus tissue.The solubilized notochordal cell matrix powder is capable of stimulating native or stem cells to proliferate and produce a significant increase inglycosaminoglycansand type-II collagen matrix. Embodiments of the invention can be used for the disc regenerative treatment of discogenic back and neck pain in an orthopaedic and/or pharmaceutical setting/approach.

摘要： Provided are systems and methods for treating or processing tissue, and tissue products made using such systems and methods. The methods involve combining tissue with a processing solution in a processing vessel and applying resonant acoustic energy thereto. In some instances, the tissue is processed in the absence of processing solution. The resonant acoustic energy rapidly agitates the tissue with the processing solution by vibration. The general method provided is broadly applicable to a variety of tissue processing methods, the processing solution and features of the resonant acoustic energy being selected based on the type of tissue to be processed and the nature of the processing to be performed. Exemplary methods include methods of bone demineralization, tissue decellularization, tissue cryopreservation, production of stromal vascular fraction, tissue homogenization, tissue cleansing, and tissue decontamination, and assessment of microbial load. By applying resonant acoustic energy to the tissue during processing, the rate or efficiency of processing, or both, may be improved.

摘要： Osteoinductive compositions and implants having increased biological activities, and methods for their production, are provided. The biological activities that may be increased include, but are not limited to, bone forming; bone healing; osteoinductive activity, osteogenic activity, chondrogenic activity, wound healing activity, neurogenic activity, contraction-inducing activity, mitosisinducing activity, differentiation-inducing activity, chemotactic activity, angiogenic or vasculogenic activity, and exocytosis or endocytosis-inducing activity. In one embodiment, a method for producing an osteoinductive composition comprises providing partially demineralized bone, treating the partially demineralized bone to disrupt the collagen structure of the bone, and optionally providing a tissue-derived extract and adding the tissue-derived extract to the partially demineralized bone. In another embodiment, an implantable osteoinductive and osteoconductive composition comprises partially demineralized bone, wherein the collagen structure of the bone has been disrupted, and, optionally, a tissue-derived extract.

摘要： Described herein are tissue grafts derived from the placenta. The grafts are composed of at least one layer of amnion tissue where the epithelium layer has been substantially removed in order to expose the basement layer to host cells. By removing the epithelium layer, cells from the host can more readily interact with the cell-adhesion bio-active factors located on top of and within the basement membrane. Also described herein are methods for making and using the tissue grafts. The laminin structure of amnion tissue is nearly identical to that of native human tissue such as, for example, oral mucosa tissue. This includes high levels of laminin-5, a cell adhesion bio-active factor shown to bind gingival epithelia-cells, found throughout upper portions of the basement membrane.
