摘要： Disclosed is a patch which is a formulation including deposited clonidine crystals and provides stable transdermal absorbability even after storage at varying temperatures. The patch disclosed includes a backing and a medicated layer integrally superposed on one surface of the backing. The medicated layer contains: 5 to 30% by weight of clonidine including clonidine in a crystallized state; 25 to 90% by weight of a macromolecular base (A) having a viscosity-average molecular weight of 800,000 or larger; and 5 to 60% by weight of a liquid additive capable of dissolving the clonidine. The weight ratio of the liquid additive to the macromolecular base (A) [the liquid additive/the macromolecular base (A)] is 0.1 to 2.0.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for a free-standing biodegradable patch suitable for medical applications, especially intravascular, minimally-invasive and intraoperative surgical applications are provided, wherein the patch comprises a free-standing film or device having a mixture of a solid fibrinogen component and a solid thrombin component that, when exposed to an aqueous environment, undergoes polymerization to form fibrin. In alternative embodiments the patch may comprise a solid fibrinogen component, with or without an inorganic calcium salt component. The patch may take a non-adherent form during delivery to a target location within a vessel or tissue, and thereafter may be activated to adhere to vessel wall or tissue, and may include a number of additives, including materials to improve the mechanical properties of the patch, or one or more therapeutic or contrast agents.

摘要： The invention relates generally to intradermal, transdermal, and/or transmembrane delivery of biologically active substances in the epidermis and/or through the skin, sub-dermal tissues, blood vessels and cellular membranes without causing damage to the cellular surface, tissue or membrane. The biologically active substances may have a molecular weight no less than about 5.8 kDa to about 2,500 kDa, such as Hyaluronic Acid (HA). The biologically active substances may be deposited in a dermal patch containing a red algae polysaccharide-based matrix, wherein the red algae polysaccharide is an extract of Chondrus crispus at 2% by weight of the dermal patch. The invention provides systems and methods for enhanced intradermal, transdermal, and/or transmembrane delivery of such biologically active substances using pulsed incoherent light. The invention further provides a device for the application of the pulsed incoherent light to cellular surfaces and membranes using those compositions and methods.
