摘要： Instruments for use with a bone anchor (2) and a bone anchor (2) are provided comprising a shaft (7) having a first end (8) and a second end (9), a channel (11, 12) extending from the first end (8) to the second end (9), and a plug member (30, 40, 41) which is insertable into the channel and guidable through the channel for closing the channel at the second end. The bone anchor is suitable for minimally invasive surgery in such a way a guide wire can be guided through the bone anchor and after the bone anchor has been anchored in the bone the plug member is inserted to close the open end of the bone anchor. A bone cement or a pharmaceutical substance can be introduced into the bone anchor. The instruments allow introduction of the plug member and injection of bone cement.

摘要： The invention relates to a hip joint endoprosthesis system comprising a socket (1), an inlay (2), a head (3), optionally a separate neck (4) and a shank (5). Said inlay (2) is provided with one or several elevations (25) in such a way that the head (3) luxation is prevented. The inlay (2) is embodied such that it is displaceable in the socket (1) and the luxation thereof is prevented by guiding/stop elements (12) interacting with grooves (22). The arrangements displayed on a figure(a) prevent a luxation and improve the range of all-direction motions represented by a half of a total angle. Additionally or alternatively, the presence of the inlay recesses (24) and/or socket recesses (14) makes it possible to increase the range of motions (ROM) in a main displacement direction (extension/flexion). The arrangement displayed on a figure (b) shows the ROM in an abduction/adduction direction, represented by an abduction angle. The sight of a cross section shown on a figure (c), displays the ROM represented by an angle in the extension/flexion plane according to the arrangement. In addition, individual components and a required operational technique are adapted by means of corresponding adjustment in the shank/ neck area. The shanks (5), the intraoperative orientation thereof and the possibility thereof to be removed when required in future are optimised.

摘要： This invention relates to a method of making an inflatable bone plug for plugging the open end of an intramedullary bone canal which is capable of restricting the flow of bone cement, particularly, during the insertion of bone cement, particularly during the pressurized injection of such a cement, during an operative procedure involving the fixation of the stem of an ar- tificiaf joint prosthesis such as a femoral hip joint prosthesis to the end of a bone such as a femur. The bone plug is designed to be pressurized with a biocompatible fluid and to thereafter deflate in a controlled manner after the cement hardens. Preferably, the bone plug is made by forming a hollow expandable container of a silicone elastomer permeable to carbon dioxide gas which has a valve stem attached to one end of the container and an opening at the opposite end of the container. A shrinkable elastomeric band is placed over the valve stem in which a channel has been made to receive a further cooperating injection means such as a needle. The elastomeric band shrinks over the valve stem to form a resealable valve assembly. The valve assembly is located in the hollow interior of the bone plug and the opening opposite the valve stem is sealed to complete construction of the bone plug. When such a plug is inflated with a biocompatible fluid such as carbon dioxide, the plug remains pressurized for a sufficient amount of time to allow the cement to harden, but the pressure drops to a minimum within about 24 hours after inflation.
