摘要： Devices including, but not limited to, a self-expandable member having a proximal end portion and a main body portion are disclosed. The self-expandable member is movable from a first delivery position to a second placement position, in the first delivery position the expandable member being in an unexpanded position and having a nominal first diameter and in the second position the expandable member being in a radially expanded position and having a second nominal diameter greater than the first nominal diameter for deployment within a vessel or duct of a patient. The expandable member includes a plurality of cell structures with the cell structures in the main body portion extending circumferentially around a longitudinal axis of the expandable member and the cell structures in the proximal end portion extending less than circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the expandable member. At least some of the struts have one or more wires or ribbons (661, 662, 663) wound thereabout so as to enhance the average deflection stiffness.

摘要： This invention provides a small diameter snare device consisting of a hollow, elongate, thin-walled polymer outer sheath. A single central core wire extends through the entire length of the sheath. The outer diameter of the core wire is sized close to the inner diameter of the sheath while allowing for axial sliding, in order to maximize the support to the body portion of the snare device. The distal end of the core wire has a tapered section of reduced diameter or cross section to provide a 'guidewire-like' flexibility to the distal portion of the device. A second wire of about fifty percent of the inner diameter of the sheath is shaped to form a snare loop and the two ends are attached to the distal most portion of the central core wire via welding, soldering, or brazing. After assembly of the core and sheath, a second short, hollow tube is fitted over the proximal end of the central core and attached thereto to provide an actuating handle to slideably moue the central core within the sheath, thus exposing and retracting the snare loop from the open distal end of the sheath. The loop is typically circular or oval shaped and can also be multiplanar (for example, a twisted, figure eight shape) so as to increase the ability to ensnare and capture objects. The loop attachment to the core wire is facilitated and strengthened by a wrapped coupling coil formed typically of 0.001-inch platinum wire applied to secure the loop prior to soldering (brazing or other metal-flowing joining techniques), and through which solder flows to permanently secure the loop to the core wire.

摘要： An apparatus for incising a stenosis within a vascular conduit of a patient includes an inflatable balloon attached to an elongated catheter that defines a longitudinal axis. The distal end of the balloon includes a tapered section and at least one incising blade is attached to the tapered section. Each incising blade is oriented on the tapered section with the proximal end of the blade radially distanced from the longitudinal axis at a distance r1 and the distal end of the incising blade radially distanced from the longitudinal axis at a distance r2. After the balloon has been inflated, each incising blade is oriented with r1 > r2 to position the incising blades at an angle relative to the axis. This cooperation of structure allows the incising blades to cut an incision into a stenosis during axial advancement of the inflated balloon.
