摘要： An apparatus to separate hair into units of three for braiding, producing several such units in one application. The preferred embodiment comprises a platform having an upper shelf (1) and an anchor (2). The anchor (2) has comb-like teeth (5) for fixing the device to the hair of the subject. The upper shelf (1) prevents tangling of unbraided hair above the device. A blade (3), fixed perpendicularly to the platform, has a plurality of teeth (11) separated by notches (10, 12) of alternating depths, which receive strands of hair. A lower shelf (4) affixed at an angle acts as a support for the separated hair strands and prevents tangling. The upper (1) and lower (4) shelves are made removable. The width between braids may be varied by providing teeth (5, 11) of different widths on the upper shelf (1).

In a comb 1, a concaved one end dented portion 3d is formed in one end outer edge surface 3c of one end edge comb part 3. A tip end of the one end edge comb part 3 is pressed against a scalp part where the parting line is to be formed, and a hair bundle divided outside the one end edge comb part 3 is pinched between the one end edge comb part 3 and a finger. Since part of the pinched hair bundle is spread naturally inside the one end dented portion 3d, a stuck feeling is eliminated, and the one end edge comb part 3 is smoothly moved along the parting line without the pinched hair bundle being a resistance, to form the parting line. Further, in the comb 1, a plurality of through-holes 7 are formed in the comb main body 2 at a predetermined interval. In the case of measuring the head hair, the one end outer edge surface 3c is pressed against the scalp, and the measurements of the length of the head hair are carried out based on the through-hole 7, while securing a two-point contact state in which outer edge portions 3e and 3f on both sides of the one end dented portion 3d contact with the scalp.

摘要： This invention is a device that isolates hairs into groups when run through hair on a human head such that they may be processed in various ways by attaching hair extensions, reshaping the cross-sectional diameters of individual hairs, precise cutting of the hairs, applying colorants, and applying permanent curling chemicals. The device includes a tensioning hair straightener (C) which allows the hairs to stand in a relatively perpendicular manner relative to the scalp during processing. Also various means (B) for preventing hairs from forming a build-up in front of the device as it is advanced through the hair are disclosed. The device can also be used for hair extension attachment, and removal. The hairs are detached anbd recycled so that they can be reattached later. Finally a means of manufacturing artificial hair extensions, and putting them into cartridges that can be used by the device are disclosed.
