    • The transmission comprises an epicyclic mechanism (3) which is able to transmit drive from the engine shaft (m) to the front shaft (a) and rear shaft (p) of the motor vehicle and which comprises a first rotatable element (14) provided with a first gear wheel (6), a second rotatable element (7) provided with a second gear wheel (7), and a series of planet gears (8) each of which meshes simultaneously with the first and second said gear wheels as well as a third rotatable element (9) which supports the planets, one of the rotatable elements being connected to the engine shaft and each of the other two rotatable elements being connected to one of the front and rear shafts; the transmission is characterised by the fact that it includes over-run means (12) able to allow relative rotation between a pair of the said rotatable elements when the relative rotation of a predetermined element of the pair with respect to the other element is in a predetermined direction and to prevent such relative rotation automatically when the relative rotation of the same predetermined element with respect to the other is in a direction opposite the said predetermined direction.

      The combine harvester further includes a cleaning unit (18) including a pivoted bin (19) bearing at least two cleaning screens (20, 21) one above the other, conveyor means (10) which receive the grain separated by the thresher unit (6) and drop it on to the cleaning unit (18), means (23, 25) for directing a current of air at the product (P) which falls on to the cleaning unit (18) so as to separate the lighter chaff from the grain, a transverse accelerator roller (16) located beneath the discharge end (11) of the conveyor means (10) to accelerate the fall of the product, and a fixed wall (17) adjacent the accelerator roller (16) and defining therewith a passage through which the grain leaving the conveyor means (19) is accelerated, the fixed wall (17) being so formed as to incline the fall of the product (P) accelerated by the accelerator roller (16) relative to a vertical transverse plane.

    • In a combine harvester of the axial-flow type provided with a roller (14) for accelerating the fall of the produce onto the cleaning unit (10) a fixed wall (16) which cooperates with the accelerator roller (14) has its lower part shaped so as to incline the flow of the produce accelerated by the roller (14) with respect to a vertical plane, resulting in an increase in the area of produce flow which is subject to a current of air for separating the light material from the grain.
