摘要： In a method of making an ornament, a metal ornament body (1) having an internal groove (7) opening at one end (7a) to an end edge of the metal ornament body (1) and at an opposite end (7b) to front and rear surfaces of the metal ornament body (1) is held between two relatively movable mold members (9, 10) while the one end (7a) of the internal groove (7) is connected to a gate (13) of the mold members (9, 10) and the opposite end (7b) of the internal groove (7b) communicates with mold cavities (11a, 11b) in the mold members (9, 10). Then, a melted synthetic resin material is injected into the mold cavities (11a, 11b) through the gate (13) and the internal groove (7). Since the gate mark is not formed on the outside surface of an ornamental member (2) molded of synthetic resin but left on the end edge of the metal ornament body (1). The gate mark thus formed is normally hidden from view and does not deteriorate the aesthetical appearance of the ornament.

The mounting hole (8) in which the retainer pin (4) is firmly fitted extends through a guide post (7) of the slider body (1) so that the pull tab (3) is firmly retained on the slider body (1) against detachment even when the pull tab is manipulated with a severe pulling force.
