The invention relates to a dental model comprising a base part having the shape of a section of a maxilla and the gingiva of a patient, and comprising at least one detachable tooth part (225) which is designed to be inserted into a corresponding tooth part cavity of the base part in a z direction, wherein the detachable tooth part comprises a tooth section (225a) having the shape of a tooth or tooth stump. 2.2. According to the invention, the tooth part cavity has an approximately cylindrical main orifice, the detachable tooth part has an insertion section (225b) which is approximately cylindrical and which is designed to be inserted into the main orifice of the tooth part cavity, an orientation extension (225d) extending in z direction is provided at a side of the tooth part facing away from the tooth section, the tooth part cavity for receiving the orientation extension (225d) has an orientation cavity attached to the main orifice for receiving the orientation extension, and the orientation extension (225d) and the orientation cavities are designed and/or arranged so as to allow for an engagement of the orientation extension in the orientation cavity only in a defined rotational orientation relative to a central axis of the insertion section.

According to the invention, the workpiece carriage (30) can be moved in the direction of the X-axis far enough that the workpiece (36a-36l) received on said workpiece carriage (30) can be moved into the transfer position (70). The invention can be used in particular for machine tools for producing dental prosthetics or denture models.
