    • There is provided a motion vector circuit for detecting screen shake of an image of an object. The circuit comprises a binary-coded edge portion signal generator (2) for signal-processing a video signal corresponding to the image to generate a binary-coded edge portion signal including information of the edge portion of the image, a detector (8) for delaying the binary-coded edge portion signal by a predetermined period of time to generate a delayed binary-coded edge portion signal so as to generate detection signals with time width corresponding to shake amount of the image by means of the binary-coded edge portion signal and the delayed binary-coded edge portion signal and a calculator (23) for generating moving vector signals corresponding to the direction and the amount of the image by means of the detection signals to calculate the shake amount of the image by means of the moving vector signals and predetermined allowable deviation.

    • An automatic focusing imaging device basically comprises an imaging element (16) for applying photoelectric conversion to an image pick-up light from an object formed by a lens system (15), an extraction circuit (18) for extracting, as an analog signal, a high frequency component of the video signal, an analog/digital (A/D) conversion circuit (21) for converting the extracted analog signal to a digital signal, a calculation circuit (22) responsive to the digital signal to calculate in advance an in-focus position in the lens system (15) and the imaging element (16) so that the high frequency component has a maximum level to generate a control signal, a drive mechanism (25) for moving the lens system (15) and/or the imaging element (16) by the control signal, and a non-linear conversion circuit (19) provided at the preceding stage of the A/D conversion circuit (21) and for correcting in advance deterioration of quantization resolution of the high frequency band component in calculation of the in-focus position.
