摘要： Systems and methods are described for secure and seamless roaming between internal and external networks. Double and triple tunnels may be used to connect to a mobile node to a correspondent host. A mobile node may include the ability to connect to two networks simultaneously to enable seamless roaming between networks. For instance the system can comprise an internal home agent (602) in a virtual private network, an external home agent (605) and a security gateway (606) between two firewalls (603, 604) in a demilitarized zone, and the tunnels can comprise an internal mobile IP tunnel (610), optionally comprised in an IPsec tunnel (609), comprised in an external mobile IP tunnel (608). In one embodiment the mobile node (607) comprises an application having access to both an external and an internal MIP driver respectively connected to a first and a second network driver. In another embodiment, a communication is transferred from a first to a second network responsive to establishing a second connection with a second network driver.

摘要： The present invention relates to the use of buffering packets for the mobile node at an access router or network node near the edge of the network that the mobile is moving away from or towards. The buffered packets are then forwarded to the mobile node once the handoff process is completed. 摘要： The present invention relates to reducing the time required to provide an IP address to a mobile node by pro-actively obtaining IP addresses, through the use of PANA-assisted pro-active IP address acquisition, IKEv2-assisted proactive IP address acquisition, or by pro-active IP address acquisition using DHCP only. Where a DHCP is used to pre-configure an IP address in an MPA framework, a PAA generates a plurality of Session-Ids, the plurality of Session-Ids is maintained as a pool of Session-Ids, a Session-Id is retrieved from the pool when the PAA sends a PANA-Auth-Request, and providing a pre-generated IP address to an MN reduces pre-authentication time. Where a IKEv2-assisted pro-active IP address acquisition to pre-fetch IP addresses, is used to reduce the time required to provide an IP address to a MN an IP address is obtained from a CTN as part of a standard IKEv2 procedure. A co-located DHCP relay agent is placed on the access router, or a DHCP client for obtaining the IP address from a DHCP server in a target network using standard DHCP, a PAA pre-generates a pool of Session-Ids, the pool of Session-Ids is forwarded directly to a Ipsec-GW. Where the time required to provide an IP address to a MN is reduced using only DHCP, direct DHCP communication between the mobile node and the DHCP relay or DHCP server in the CTN is enabled and the mobile node sends a unicast DHCP message to the DHCP relay agent or to the DHCP server in the CTN, requesting an address, while using the address associated with the current physical interface as the source address of the request. In this system a set of PANA Sessions-Ids have been pre-generated.

摘要： This application describes, among other things, a framework of Media-independent Pre-Authentication (MPA), a new handover optimization mechanism that has a potential to address issues on existing mobility management protocols and mobility optimization mechanisms. MPA is a mobile-assisted, secure handover optimization scheme that works over any link-layer and with any mobility management protocol. This application also shows, among other things, an initial implementation of MPA in our testbed and some performance results to show how existing protocols could be leveraged to realize the functionalities of MPA.
