    • A water current power generation structure including: a power generation unit including a main body, a mounting portion which extends from the main body and which defines a mounting axis; a support structure adapted for engagement with a bed of a body of water, and including a support housing; wherein the structure further includes a yaw mechanism for rotating the power generation unit relative to the support structure, the mechanism including: a pinion associated with the mounting portion; and a gear associated within the support housing and arranged to engage the pinion to rotate the power generation unit about the mounting axis relative to the support structure; and a selective engagement mechanism for selectively engaging the yaw mechanism.

    • A clamping arrangement 30 clamps a mounting portion, eg flange 15, of an underwater power generating apparatus, eg turbine, to a mounting portion, eg flange 21, of a support structure 20. The clamp 30, eg one of several, has an open position, fig.6, allowing the power generating apparatus to be removed from the support structure; a closed position (fig.7) and a bearing position (fig.8) in which the power generating apparatus is rotatable relative to the support structure eg to reorient the turbine with tidal flow direction. Each clamp 30 comprises a clamp member 34 rotatable relative to a mounting portion 32 about a first axis in an actuation plane, the clamp 30 having a bearing surface 35 and an actuation point 37. An actuation ring 38 is rotatable by an actuator (44, figs.12-17) relative to the mounting portion 32 about a second axis (M, fig.3) perpendicular to the first axis. A spring 40 is attached between a point 43 on the actuation ring 38 and the actuation point 37 of each clamp member 34.
