The VPN is set up in a backbone network having a plurality of PE routers for controlling the transfer of IP traffic to and from CE routers in satellite networks. In a PE router, a VRF is configured forthe VPN and populated with local routes for the VPN. A VRF IP loopback address is assigned for the VRF, and a PE IP loopback address is assigned for the ingress PE router. A local route with the VRF and PE IP loopback addresses is then advertised to other PE routers in the backbone network.

摘要： A method and apparatus for selecting an edge node from a plurality of edge nodes in a fixed access communications network. A selection node receives from a host entity a request for a network service. The selection node then obtains, from at least one further network node, data relating to a plurality of edge nodes. On the basis of the retrieved data, the selection node selects an edge node from the plurality of edge nodes, wherein the selected edge node provides a path between the host entity and the requested network service. The selection node then sends a response to the host entity, the response including information identifying the selected edge node.

摘要： A system and method reduces the delay of speech processing over a packet-switched network in a discontinuous transmission system. According to exemplary embodiments, a base transceiver station assigns priority indicators to information received therein. When the information is speech or a first SID frame, a high priority indicator is assigned. When the information is a SID update frame, a low priority indicator is assigned. The information is transferred from the base transceiver station to a base station controller in an order determined by the priority indicators. As such, the delay in transferring and processing speech information is reduced.

A server (C), generating a stable frequency (fs), and the node (N1-N4) measures the number of cycles of the stable frequency (fs) respective the number of cycles of a local frequency (f1-f4), generated by the node (N1-N4). 摘要： A method is presented of requesting and receiving content over a network for use at a device. A request for the content is sent (S1) from the device to a content server located in the network. A response is received (S2) at the device from the content server. The response provides a content readiness estimate for the requested content. The readiness estimate is an estimate of when the content will be ready for use at the device according to a predetermined criterion, based on network conditions affecting delivery of the content from the content server to the device. A content readiness indication is presented (S3) at the device to a user of the device. The readiness indication is derived in dependence upon the readiness estimate and indicates to the user when or whether the content will be or is ready for use at the device according to the predetermined criterion. An instruction is received (S4) at the device from the user indicating when the user wishes to commence use of the content at the device. Content is received (S5) at the device from the content server and stored it at least until it is required for use. Use of the content is commenced (S6) at the device according to the instruction.
