摘要： The present invention relates to a LED socket comprising a base (2) which defines a receptacle (4) for receiving a LED printed circuit board of a light emitting diode (LED) package having a LED mounted on the LED printed circuit board, wherein the receptacle (4) is open to an opening (6) in the base (2) adapted to expose the LED (8) at a front face of the base (2) and wherein the base (2) holds contact elements (30), each of which are provided with a receiving section (56) adapted to be connected to a terminal end of an electrical cable (32) and with a contact lug adapted to electrically contact a pad (12, 14) of said printed circuit board. To allow electrical contact with CoB-LEDs having pads of varying size and location on the PCB the present invention proposes a contact lug with a hammer head contact section (64) exposed in the receptacle (4). The present invention furthermore specifies a base which allows simple manufacturing and connection of the contact element, which base comprises a receptacle for receiving the LED mounted on the LED printed circuit board and an opening which is adapted to expose the LED (8) at a front face (8) of the base (2) and which is adapted to hold contact elements (30.1, 30.2) each of which being provided with a contact lug (64) adapted to electrically contact a pad (12; 14) of the printed circuit board (6). To simplify the mounting of the CoB-LED and the contact element, the base is a unitary injection molded member providing means adapted to securely connect the contact element to the base. Thus, the contact element is connected to the base by means of functional elements provided by the injection molded member. No extra fixing elements, which are not a unitary portion of the base, are required to connect the contact element to the base.

摘要： The invention relates to a housing assembly (1) for a plier-operated insulation-displacement connector (2). The housing assembly (1) comprises two housing sections (4, 6) which are movable with respect to one another for assembly of the connector and for insulation displacement. In order to prevent damages and short-circuits when the housing assembly (1) is assembled using pliers, the following features are provided. Each of the two housing sections comprises a top surface (42, 44) configured to be gripped by a jaw (74, 78) of a plier (76). The top surface (42) of a first (4) of the two housing sections comprises an area (46) which is concave in a first direction (48). The top surface (44) of a second (6) of the two housing sections at least (a) comprises an area (50) which is concave in the first direction and (b) is arranged slidably along the first direction (48) with respect to the top surface (42) of the first housing section (4). The relative movability of the two top surfaces (42, 44) with respect to one another avoids damages to the housing assembly (1) and short-circuits.

In order to conveniently and cost-effectively hold and electrically contact the LED (100, 100'), the present invention provides that the contact element (3, 3') comprises a mounting section (301, 301') adapted for mounting the contact element (3, 3') to the base (2, 2') in a manner that the contact element (3, 3') is pivotable about a pivot axis (P) extending through the mounting section (301, 301'), and comprises a contact arm (302, 302') protruding laterally from the mounting section (301, 301') and having on a distal end a contact point (303) facing essentially in a contact direction (K) for contacting the LED (100), wherein the contact direction is running essentially in parallel to the pivot axis (P). Further, the invention provides that the base (2, 2', 2") comprises at least one contact receptacle (203, 203', 203") which is adapted to accommodate a contact element (3, 3') according to at least one of claims 1 to 10 in at least to different rotational positions (R 1 , R 2 ), and that the clamping element (4, 4', 4") comprises an attachment section (401, 401') adapted to be attached to the base (2, 2') at the at least one contact receptacle (203, 203', 203"), and a holding section (402, 402') adapted to hold down the contact arm (302, 302') of the contact element (3, 3') towards the LED (100, 100').
