摘要： In order to provide an improved initiator easy to be manufactured and low in manufacturing cost, as well as an improved gas generator equipped with such an improved initiator, an amount of reactant (54) is received in a casing (56) of an initiator (50). A pin (66) is connected with the head (54), while another pin (62) is inserted in a hole (60) of the head (54) and is secured therein by virtue of a material such as a glass. The reactant (58) contains an amount of electrically conductive particles (58a), such as metal particles or electrically conductive metal oxide particles. A bridge wire is not used.

Keys (45) which are inserted into the key grooves (47) and (51) and thereby prevent the orifice member (16) or the diffuser (7) from rotating are also provided. The orifice member (16) and the diffuser (7) are coupled with each other, either one of the components is rotated, and both components are thereby connected to each other.

摘要： It is an object of the invention to provide an igniting agent containing a powder of a Mg-Al alloy having a high ignition speed and good grindability, an initiator containing the igniting agent, a gas generator incorporating the initiator, and an airbag apparatus and seatbelt apparatus incorporating the gas generator.
According to the invention, an igniting agent includes a powder of a Mg·Al alloy containing Mg: 55 to 70 wt% and Al: the balance. At least one selected from the group consisting of Ca, Mn, Li, Si, Sb, Sr, Zn, Zr, Sc, Y, Sn, Ba, and rare earth metals may be added in an amount of 0.5 to 10 wt%. An initiator is loaded with the igniting agent. A gas generator incorporates the initiator.
