    • An apparatus includes a camera chip, including a processing arrangement to generate error detection data for image data, and a controller configured to receive the image data and error detection data, use the received error detection data to determine whether the received image data contains errors and, if so, generate an error signal. Error detection data may be generated for each row or column of image data obtained from a pixel array, to cover an entire image, and completeness of the received image data may be checked using line indicators. The error detection data may include a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) code. Error detection data may be generated and checked by the apparatus as a self-test when powered on, during normal use or as a test during manufacture. The apparatus may be configured to capture an image of a medical device and extract information such as a programmed medicament dosage.

    • In one aspect the present invention relates to an injection device for administering a dose of a liquid medicament, comprising:
      - an elongated housing (12) having a dispensing end (20) and being configured to accommodate a cartridge (1) filled with the liquid medicament,
      - a drive mechanism (5) configured to operably engage with the cartridge (1) for expelling of a dose of the medicament from the cartridge (1) via the dispensing end (20),
      - a protective cap (30) releasably attachable to the housing (12) to cover the dispensing end (20),
      - a first electronic circuit (40) attached to the protective cap (30) and electrically connected to at least a first cap electrode (32, 33, 34) arranged on the protective cap (30),
      - a second electronic circuit (60) arranged inside the housing (12), coupled to the drive mechanism (5) and electrically connected to at least a first housing electrode (62, 63, 64) that is located on the housing (12),
      - wherein the first and the second electronic circuits (40, 60) are electrically connected to each other via the at least first cap electrode (32, 33, 34) and the at least first housing electrode (62, 63, 64) that are in mutual contact when the protective cap (30) is attached to the housing (12).
