    • There is disclosed a prosthesis (P) for use with an intact ossicular chain to allow a magnet (M) to be coupled to the ossicular chain, the magnet (M) being movable by an electromagnetic induction hearing aid. The prosthesis (P) has a body (48) having a first groove (50) which co-operates with the manubrium (16) and a second groove (52) formed by an arm (54) extending from the body (48) and a hooked end (60), the second groove (52) co-operating with the long process (28). A magnet (M) may be connected to a planar surface (56) developed by the arm (54) and the hooked end (60) and is generally parallel to the tympanic membrane (T) when installed. A conventional disk-shaped magnet (104) can be utilized inside a bio-compatible housing (100).
