    • The object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a member for push-button switch having key top members positioned close to each other through a distance of 1.5 mm or shorter at low cost and with high yielding.
      Thereby, the member (1) for push-button switch to be manufactured by the method of the present invention comprises a plurality of key top members (2) having resin key top cores (21) and thermoplastic films (22) covering the key top cores (21) other than the lower surfaces thereof. The key top members (2) are further so formed that an interval between at least one set of adjacent key top members (2) among the key top members (2) is 1.5 mm or shorter, the maximum thickness (t0) of the thermoplastic films (22) covering the key top cores (21) being within the range of 75 to 350 µm. Accordingly, the method of manufacturing such a member for push-button switch (1) comprises a forming step (S1; S11; S21) of stretching the thermoplastic film (22) having a temperature from 135 to 145 °C according to the shape of a mold (40, 51) thereby forming the thermoplastic film (22) to a size enough to cover a plurality of adjacent key top cores (21), an integration step (S2; S12; S22) of integrating the plurality of adjacent key top cores (21) with the formed thermoplastic film (22) thereby making a key top member body (23), an arrangement step (S3; S14; S24) of arranging the key top member body (23) or the key top member (2) on a base member (3) for pressing the switch, and a separation step (S4; S15; S23) of separating the key top member body (23) into the units of key top members (2).
