摘要： Provided is a high-quality end seal member which is easy to manufacture and economical, and which exhibits excellent sealing properties with respect to inhibiting the leakage of toner in a toner-handling device of an image-forming device. End seal member (1) for inhibiting, at a desired acceleration, leakage of toner from end (6d) of rotating body (6a) using anti-leakage gap (15) obtained by causing recessed region (2f) to be deformed toward rotating body (6a) is provided with sealing member (1a) having striped pattern (2c) comprising plurality of steps of linear configuration which come in contact with toner carrier (6), i.e. rotating body (6a), of image-forming device (5). When toner (7) conveyed by toner carrier (6) comes in contact with radiused region (3) at edge of projecting region (2d) of irregular surface (2a) of sealing member (1a), toner (7) scraping angle (8) is greater than toner (7) angle (7a) of repose. Irregular surface (2a) of striped pattern (2c) comprising plurality of steps has toner control angle (10) permitting toner (7) to be returned toward interior (6f) in rotational axis direction (6e) by rotation of rotating body (6a). Elastic body (11) at back surface (1e) of sealing member (1a) is used to achieve reactive-force-providing elasticity (11b) for contact load between sealing member (1a) and rotating body (6a).

摘要： Provided are a roller which has knit fabric at a surface thereof and which is employed in an apparatus permitting achievement of conservation of resources, conservation of energy, and low cost, and an apparatus employing such a roller. Roller 1 covered with covering 3 comprising knit fabric at a surface thereof causes conveyance, supply, or other such movement of an object, or uses air to dry or cool an object as it is moved, or rotates while causing an object to be subjected to suction; knit fabric 3a covering the roller surface has gaps having air permeability and steps 6 comprising stripes in a pattern of bands at the front and back surfaces thereof; the stripes in the pattern of bands are perpendicular to the direction of rotation at the surface of the rotating support body 2; loops making up knit fabric 3a have domains of small loops 4c and large loops 4b which are adjacent in the rotational direction; the large loops 4b are of continuous configuration with little slack at yarn 8; the small loops 4c are of continuous configuration and have entangled regions 3b of yarn 8 in a stitch direction which is an axial direction; the steps 6 are present at the small loops 4c and the large loops 4b; and is a roller 1 comprising knit fabric 3a which is provided at the rotating support body 2 that is covered with the knit fabric 3a in which the pattern of bands 4 is formed in the axial direction.

Roller 1 provided with covering 3 comprising woven fabric at a surface thereof is idler means or drive means for conveying, supply, or the like of an object, means for air cooling or drying a moving object, rotating means making use of suction of an object, or is for cleaning a contact surface to which roller 1 is opposed, and has at the surface thereof woven fabric 2 comprising variation or combination of weave pattern(s); said woven fabric 2 has a step comprising weaving in a linear pattern of bands or different patterns; has open holes comprising lattice-like gaps 8 or a rectangular pattern 6 for control of air permeability formed from weft yarn 25 and warp yarn 26; and is a roller 1 having woven fabric 2 at the surface thereof which is constituted from a non-gap-forming portion 7 in a rectangular pattern 6 due to mutual approach or abutment of yarns 5 of woven fabric 2 and rectangular gap-forming portion 9.
