    • A backlight unit is provided. The backlight unit includes a light guide panel (LGP); at least one point light source emitting light at an edge of the LGP; and a refraction member being positioned between the point light source and the LGP and refracting the light emitted from the point light source toward the optical axis of the point light source in order to reduce the azimuth angle of the light that is incident upon the LGP. The refraction member comprises a prism array in which a V-shaped prism pattern is repeatedly arrayed, the apex of the prism pattern facing the edge of the LGP. The refraction member further comprises a transparent portion that prevents the light from being totally reflected by the prism pattern in a region along an optical axis of the light source.

    • Provided is a prism sheet including a substrate transmitting incident light and having at least one groove inwardly formed in a surface of the substrate, a refractive member provided in the groove and having a relatively higher refractive index than a refractive index of the substrate, and a prism arranged to face the refractive member, refracting and transmitting incident light, and having a relatively lower refractive index than the refractive index of the refractive member. A backlight unit includes at least one light source emitting light, a light guide panel guiding procession of light emitted from the light source and incident on a side surface of the light guide panel and having a light exit surface through which the light exits, a reflective panel separated a predetermined distance from a surface opposite to the light exit surface of the light guide panel and reflecting incident light toward the light exit surface; and a prism sheet. The prism sheet includes at least one groove inwardly formed in a surface of the light guide panel, a refractive member provided in the groove and having a relatively higher refractive index than a refractive index of the light guide panel, and a prism arranged to face the refractive member, refracting and transmitting incident light, and having a relatively lower refractive index than the refractive index of the refractive member.

    • A multi-laser scanning unit (LSU) in which scanning lines incident parallel onto a photoreceptor have the same scanning direction. The multi-laser scanning unit includes: a driving source (31) for providing a rotatory force; a deflection disk (35) installed around a rotary shaft of the driving source, having at least two sectors (35a) with a hologram pattern for diffracting and deflecting incident light, for scanning light through rotation; at least two light sources (41,43) installed facing one surface of the deflection disk, for irradiating lights onto predetermined points in the at least two sectors of the deflection disk, the predetermined points being symmetrical about the rotary center of the deflection disk; a light path changing portion (M 1 ', M 22 ', M 41 ') for changing traveling paths of the plurality of scanning lines formed by the rotation of the deflection disk, such that the centers of the scanning lines or extended imaginary lines of the scanning lines pass the rotary axis of the deflection disk; and a scanning direction changing portion (50) for changing the scanning direction of one scanning line scanned by the deflection disk in the opposite scanning direction, such that all the scanning lines scan an image in the same scanning direction.
