    • The invention relates to a method of detecting extraneous fibres and/or impurities in a yarn or in another linear fibre textile formation on an operating unit of a textile machine producing or processing yarn or another linear fibre textile formation. In this method, the colour picture of at least a part of the surface of the moving yarn (1) or of another linear fibre textile formation is at predetermined time intervals sensed (registered) and subject to a colour analysis aimed at detecting a spot of different colour in the colour picture of the yarn (1) or of another linear fibre textile formation representing a chromatic aberration due to the presence of an extraneous fibre or of impurities.
      The device for carrying out the method comprises a radiation source (2) and a sensor (4) of the radiation reflected from the yarn (1) or another linear fibre textile formation whose output is connected with an evaluating device (5). The radiation sensor (4) consists of at least one row of colour-sensitive sensing elements (41).

    • The method of cleaning the space between the guide tube (7) of the continuous component of the multi-component yarn and the inner surface of the hollow shaft (2) of the rotor while feeding the continuous component (82) to the spinning rotor (1) of the rotor spinning machine for the multi-component yarn production (8) containing the continuous component (82) and the component (81) spun out in the rotor (1) from singled-out fibres, while the guide tube (7) is placed basically concentrically in the hollow shaft of the (2) rotor. Inside the space between the guide tube (7) of the continuous component and the inner surface of the hollow shaft (2) of the spinning rotor there is forced airflow generated, which prevents settlement of dust and other particles of dirt in the space between the guide tube (7) and the inner surface of the hollow shaft (2) of the spinning rotor.
      As shown in the first variant of the device performing the method, the space between the guide tube (7) of the continuous component and the hollow shaft (2) is connected, on the other side from the rotor, (1) to the source (202) of the air overpressure or underpressure. As shown in the second variant of the device, at least one of the walls forming the space between the hollow shaft (2) and the guide tube (7) is modified to have at least one shape to generate airflow.
