    • Known devices have an adsorption filter (1) in communication with the atmosphere through a venting line (46) controlled by a stop valve (51). Impurities contained in the air are deposited in the stop valve as they flow through it, so that it no longer closes hermetically. A particle filter (41) is thus mounted upstream of the stop valve, but because of its small cross-section, the particle filter causes an undesirably high pressure drop. By integrating in the housing (22) of the adsorption filter (1) a large surface area particle filter (41), soiling of the stop valve (51) and an excessively high pressure drop in the air that flows through the particle filter (41) are avoided. The integrated design allows the adsorption filter (1) to be easily mounted. This novel venting device is particularly useful for internal combustion engines in motor vehicles.
