摘要： A method of wireless communication of receiving a data flow, which has duplicate packets, from a plurality of cells via layers in a protocol stack having a packet split at a packet data convergence protocol layer or a radio link control layer is described. The method comprises receiving a packet in the data flow from one of the plurality of cells, determining that the packet has a duplicate packet, and reporting a status, to at least one of the plurality of cells, indicating to the at least one of the plurality of cells to discard the duplicate of the packet. Further, a method of transmitting duplicate packets and corresponding apparatuses and computer-readable media are described.

By way of example, multiple transmissions can be conducted for a HARQ process prior to a scheduled feedback signal on the HARQ process, causing a receiving device to combine the multiple transmissions, rather than treat them as separate transmissions. In this manner, multiple transmissions can be employed to increase overall receive energy, without violating maximum transmit power constraints in a wireless communication. Further, these multiple transmissions can be configured based on prevailing signal strength at the receiving device, or based on processing capabilities of the receiving device, providing flexible protocols that can accommodate advanced as well as legacy UEs in wide range of wireless conditions.

A wireless network can send a downlink (DL) packet, which follows one path from a core network entity to a user equipment (UE) under current standards, to multiple base stations (BSs) and from each of the base stations to a UE. The UE receives the DL packet from whichever BS first delivers the DL packet, and then the UE sends a report reporting receipt of the DL packet back to all of the BSs. BSs that receive a report indicating the UE received the packet can drop the packet, even if they have not yet successfully delivered the packet. The same procedure can be used for an UL packet, which can be sent from a UE to multiple BSs, and from the BSs to a core network entity.

A user equipment (UE) may have (i) a first DRX cycle used by a first network (e.g., a core network) to page the UE and (ii) a second DRX cycle used by a second network (e.g., a RAN) to page the UE. In an aspect, the UE may use the longer DRX cycle and ignore the shorter DRX cycle, when allowed, to extend battery life. In one design, the UE may receive an indication of whether the second DRX cycle can be ignored or is to be considered by the UE. The UE may use the longer DRX cycle if the second DRX cycle can be ignored and may receive paging from the first network and/or the second network based on the longer DRX cycle. In another aspect, the UE may negotiate a DRX cycle with a network.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses are provided that facilitate routing of messages of a positioning protocol, such as long term evolution (LTE) positioning protocol annex (LPPa). A positioning server can determine a network area identifier of one or more messages based at least in part on an identifier of a base station associated with the one or more messages. Based at least in part on the network area identifier, the positioning server can provide the one or more messages to an intermediate network node corresponding to the one or more base stations, such as a mobility management entity (MME). MME can similarly provide the one or more messages to an optional gateway between it and the one or more base stations based at least in part on receiving the network area identifier in the one or more messages. In addition, a base station can update positioning information with the positioning server.
