    • The present invention is directed towards A method of controlling a beverage dispensing system (600). The system (600) comprises a base unit (20) comprising at least one visual indicator (29) controlled by a control unit (303) and at least one module (500) mounted in or on the base unit (20). The at least one module (500) comprises a dispensing arrangement for dispensing beverage from a beverage reservoir (111), the dispensing of beverage being controlled by a manually openable dispensing valve (103). The module (500) comprises storage means storing module (500) data including a predetermined flowrate of beverage from the module (500). The method comprises the steps of communicating the module (500) data from the storage means of the at least one module (500) to the control unit (303) and calculating a time period for the dispensing of beverage from the at least one module (500) based upon the predetermined flowrate and a desired amount of beverage to be dispensed. The method further comprises indicating the at least one module (500) with the at least one visual indicator (29) for the calculated time period.

    • The present invention relates to a beverage dispensing apparatus. The apparatus comprises one or more beverage dispensing containers (11). Each container (11) defines an enclosure within which is positioned a reservoir (150) containing a beverage and comprises a dispensing valve (20) for controlling liquid beverage flow from the reservoir (150) and out of the beverage dispensing container (11). The apparatus comprises a base unit (12) upon or within which, in use, the or each beverage dispensing may be positioned, the base unit (12) having an input to receive instructions from a user. The apparatus comprises a beverage dispensing means in communication with the input of the base unit (12), and with one or both of the reservoir (150)/dispensing valve (20) of the, or at least one of the, beverage dispensing container (11)(s). The beverage dispensing means is configured to cause beverage to be dispensed from the, or a selected one of the beverage dispensing containers (11), when instructions to do so have been received from the user via the base unit (12) input. Manual dispensing is provided. The dispensing valve is a check valve.
