    • The present invention relates to a method of determining a leakage condition in a negative pressure wound therapy system during a negative pressure wound therapy. Said method includes controlling an electrical pump for generating a negative pressure and generating a leakage signal if a pump speed associated with the electrical pump exceeds a predetermined value. The present invention further proposes a method of estimating a flow rate of a negative pressure wound therapy system. The further method of estimating a flow rate comprises the steps of controlling an electrical pump for generating a negative pressure and estimating the flow rate as a flow rate function of a pump speed and a pump current. The invention further relates to a negative pressure wound therapy system adapted to execute the method of determining a leakage condition a negative pressure wound therapy system and/or the further method of estimating a flow rate of a negative pressure wound therapy system.

    • The invention relates to a method of generating a negative pressure at a wound site during a negative pressure wound therapy. The method comprises the steps of setting a target negative pressure on a negative pressure wound therapy system, determining a negative pressure value by means of a pressure sensor, calculating a difference between the determined negative pressure value and the target negative pressure setting to obtain a negative pressure error, determining a target negative pressure gradient by means of a first function, and adjusting a control signal for the electrical pump in response to the value of the target negative pressure gradient, said control signal controls the speed of the electrical pump. The invention further relates to a negative pressure wound therapy system adapted to execute said method of generating a negative pressure at a wound site.
