The shroud (40) is open-fronted and includes a top wall (68), connected side walls (62) and a rear end wall (64) with an inward horizontal shoulder (78). Extending downward along the top wall (68) of the shroud (40) are a pair of opposed channels (174). In assembly, the open-fronted shroud (40) is moved forward onto the pump body (12) in a simple uni-directional linear movement, the channels (174) receiving the outward flanges (144) respectively. The latching sections (180) are flexed and snap past the rearward surface of the channels and the shoulder (78) on the shroud (40) slides under the shelf (50).
