    • A method of manufacturing support elements for lighting devices includes:
      - providing an elongated, electrically non-conductive substrate (10) with opposed surfaces, with an electrically-conductive layer (14) extending along one of said opposed surfaces,
      - etching said electrically-conductive layer (14) to provide a set of electrically-conductive tracks (141, 142) extending along the non-conductive substrate (10) with at least one portion (e.g. the opposed surface) of the non-conductive substrate (10) left free by the set of electrically-conductive tracks (141, 142),
      - forming a network of electrically-conductive lines (121, 122) coupleable with at least one light radiation source, e.g. a LED source (L), at said portion of said non-conductive substrate (10) left free by the electrically-conductive tracks (141, 142).
      Said forming operation includes selectively removing e.g. via laser etching a further electrically-conductive layer (121, 122) provided on said non-conductive substrate (10), or printing electrically-conductive material onto the non-conductive substrate (10) .
      The electrically-conductive tracks (141, 142) and the network of electrically-conductive lines (121, 122) may be coupled with each other e.g. by means of electrically-conductive vias (16) extending through the non-conductive substrate (10).

    • A circuit assembly (100, 100') for operating an LED module (10, 10') comprising a plurality of module units (14) which are each interconnected between common connection lines (16, 17) in a sequential order with increasing distances towards a connection terminal (11) of the LED module (10) is provided. The circuit assembly comprises an input terminal (32) for connecting with a power supply, an electronic control gear (30) including an electronic switch (40) and a control device (50), which comprises an interface (51) for connecting with a dimming device (60) to obtain a dimming value thereof, the electronic control gear (30, 30') being connected with the input terminal (32) and configured to supply a voltage at its output, and an output terminal (34) for coupling with the connection terminal (11) of the LED module (10) directly or via a cable. The control device (50) operates the electronic switch (40) via pulse width modulation with a duty-cycle (D) dependent from the dimming value at a predetermined period (T), such that the LED module (10) connected to the out terminal (34) is supplied with pulses of the voltage, which have a pulse width depending from the duty-cycle (D) and the period (T). The assembly is controlled to increase an instantaneous value of the voltage supplied at the output terminal (34) for a duration of a time slice of a predetermined width starting with a rising edge of a respective pulse with respect to a nominal voltage (U N ) with which the LED module is to be operated in a case without dimming. A mean value taken of the instantaneous values of the voltage output during an ON-time of a pulse having a short pulse width may thus be larger than a corresponding mean value of pulses having a comparatively larger pulse width, such as to counteract a voltage or current drop in case of short pulse widths between the connection lines (16, 17) at a position of those module units (14) in the sequential order which have the largest distance towards the output terminals (34) when the LED module is coupled to the circuit assembly.
