摘要： The present invention relates to an immuno-active agent showing an action of activating the immunity of organisms by orally ingesting it. This immuno-active agent contains hemicellulose obtained from cornhusk and/or its partially hydrolyzed product. The hemicellulose is preferably the one obtained by removing starch and protein from cornhusk and subjecting the residue to extraction with an alkali. Further, the partially hydrolyzed product of hemicellulose is preferably the one obtained by removing starch and protein from cornhusk and subjecting the residue to extraction with an alkali, and further treating the hemicellulose with a xylanase, and its mass average molecular weight is preferably from 20,000 to 200,000.

This immunopotentiator contains hemicellulose and/or its partially digested product obtained from external skin of corn. It is favorable that the hemicellulose is obtained by eliminating starch and protein from external skin of corn and extracting the residue with an alkali. It is favorable that the partially digested product of hemicellulose is obtained by further treating hemicellulose, which is obtained by eliminating starch and protein from external skin of corn and extracting the residue with an alkali, with xylanase. It is still favorable that the weight-average molecular weight thereof is from 20,000 to 200,000.
