摘要： Provided is a card reader with which it is possible to prevent the loading of an irregularly shaped card, and to reduce the cost. This card reader is equipped with: a shutter member 7 that closes off a card passage; a biasing member 13 that biases the shutter member 7 toward a closed position 7A that closes the card passage; lever members 8 having a card contact part 8a contacted by a card 2 when the card 2 has a regular width, and a restricting part 8b that restricts the operation of the shutter member 7 in the closed position 7A; and biasing members that bias the lever members 8 toward a restricting position 8A where the restricting parts 8b restrict the operation of the shutter member 7. By means of this card reader, when an inserted card 2 contacts the card contact parts 8a the restriction of the shutter member 7 by the restricting parts 8b is released, and in this state, when the card 2 contacts the shutter member 7 and the shutter member 7 is pressed, the shutter member 7 operates so as to allow passage of the card 2.

摘要： The present invention provides an IC card reader with which it is possible to suppress the occurrence of a flaw in a card caused by an IC contact spring when the card is collected, and yet possible to reduce the size. In this IC card reader, an IC contact block 10 moves, while maintaining constant posture, to a communication position at which the external connection terminal of a card 2 and an IC contact spring 3 are in contact, and to a card ejection position 10C to be in contact with a stopper 26 and separated from the card 2. When the card 2 in contact with the rotation stopper 19 of the IC contact block 10 having moved to the communication position is carried rearwards, the rotation stopper 19 is pushed by the card 2 and the IC contact block 10 moves from the communication position to the card ejection position 10C toward the rear, and when the card 2 in contact with the rotation stopper 19 of the IC contact block 10 having moved to the card ejection position 10C is carried rewards, the rotation stopper 19 rotates and the card 2 passes along the underside of the rotation stopper 19 toward the rear.

摘要： Provided is a card reader that can be downsized in a conveying direction of a card even when a reduction ratio between a motor and a conveying roller is increased. In a card reader 1, a direction perpendicular to a conveying direction of a card and a thickness direction of the card is referred to as a "Y" direction, and a support shaft 38 is disposed so that an axial direction of the support shaft 38 is coincided with the "Y" direction, and a support shaft 39 is disposed so that an axial direction of the support shaft 39 is coincided with the "Y" direction. Gears 32 and 34 are rotatably supported by the support shaft 38 so as to overlap each other in the axial direction of the support shaft 38. Gears 33 and 35 are rotatably supported by the support shaft 39 so as to overlap each other in the axial direction of the support shaft 39. In this card reader 1, a small gear part 32b of the gear 32 is engaged with a large gear part 33a of the gear 33. A small gear part 33b of the gear 33 is engaged with a large gear part 34a of the gear 34. A small gear part 34b of the gear 34 is engaged with a large gear part 35a of the gear 35.
