    • A wrench (10) includes a wrench body (11) having a ring portion (111) and a handle portion (112). A retainer (13) that holds a plurality of wedge members (12) at predetermined intervals in a circumferential direction of the ring portion (111) is disposed inside the ring portion (111). Wedge guide grooves (14) are formed on the inner circumferential surface of the ring portion (111) to be arranged at intervals corresponding to those of the wedge members (12). Each of the wedge guide grooves (14) has a free region (141) which maintains the corresponding wedge member (12) in a free state in which the wedge member (12) moves freely between a bottom surface of the corresponding wedge guide groove (14) and the outer circumferential surface of a fastening member (2), and left-hand and right-hand wedge regions (142, 143) each of which maintains the corresponding wedge member (12) in a caught state in which the wedge member (12) is caught between the bottom surface of the corresponding wedge guide groove (14) and the outer circumferential surface of the fastening member (2). The wrench (10) is provided with a changeover mechanism (15) for operating the retainer (13). By use of the changeover mechanism (15), the retainer (13) is moved to a position at which the wedge member (12) faces the corresponding free region (141), a position at which the wedge member (12) faces the corresponding left-hand wedge region (142), or a position at which the wedge member (12) faces the corresponding right-hand wedge region (143).

    • A tool holder includes a holder body (2) which in turn includes a shank portion (3), a flange portion (4), and a tool attachment portion (6); a tapered cone (8) fitted to the shank portion; an elastic member (7) interposed between a rear-end face of the flange portion (4) and a front-end face of the tapered cone (8); and a stopper member (9) disposed on the shank portion so as to support a rear-end face of the tapered cone (8). The inner surface of the tapered cone (8) and the outer surface of the shank portion (3) are equally tapered at an angle smaller than the angle at which the outer surface of the tapered cone (8) is tapered. Through drawings of the holder body, the tapered cone (8) expands radially to thereby be tightly held within the tapered hole (21). A spacer is bonded to the end face of the spindle so as to eliminate a gap which is formed between the flange portion and a spindle.

    • An end mill chucking structure for chucking an end mill having a relatively small diameter and used, for example, for deep milling of a die. The end mill chucking structure includes an end mill holder (10) and an end mill (12). A holder body has a taper hole (13h) formed therein. The end mill includes an end mill body (15) and a cutting tip (16) provided at an end portion of the end mill body. A portion of the end mill body located opposite the cutting tip serves as a tapered shank portion (15a). The shank portion (15a) and the rest of the end mill body are bounded by a shoulder (15c) extending outward from the surface of the shank portion. The shank portion (15a) is press-fitted or shrink-fitted into the taper hole (13h) such that the end face (13i) of the holder body abuts the shoulder (15c) of the end mill body, through application to the holder body of heat at a temperature lower than a conventional shrink-fitting temperature.
