    • The invention relates to a method for the layered production of a three-dimensional object. Said method consists of a first step wherein a layer of a powered or liquid material on a carrier or a layer already compacted in selected locations is prepared and a second step consists of the selective direction of a focused photon beam or partial beam (8') on the selected locations of the layer. In the second step, the photon beam or the partial beam is selected in such a manner that it evokes a modification of the absorbency of the material during impact on the layer. After completion of the second step, a third step is carried out in which the layer is irradiated with electromagnetic radiation (18') in such a manner that the material is compacted in a homogenus manner in the locations of the layer that correspond to the cross-section of the object that is to be formed.
