    • Disclosed is an optical recording medium (300) with improved recording characteristics which comprises a plurality of recording layers arranged on a transparent substrate. Specifically, the optical recording medium (300) comprises two recording layers (a first recording layer (302) and a second recording layer (305)) which are arranged on a transparent first substrate (301) and into or from which information can be written or read by a laser light (310) irradiated thereon, and an intermediate layer (304) arranged between the two recording layers. A certain groove for a recording track is formed in a surface of the intermediate layer (304) which is opposite to the surface on the first substrate (301) side, and the intermediate layer (304) is composed of a plurality of resin layers (a first resin layer (304a), a second resin layer (304b), and so on to the outermost resin layer (304c)). When the certain groove for a recording track is formed in the outermost resin layer (304c), the outermost resin layer (304c) is made of a resin having an elastic modulus different from those of the other resin layers of the intermediate layer (304).
