摘要： In an elevator apparatus, a balance mechanism having a pivoting shaft extending horizontally and a balance main body that is pivotable around the pivoting shaft is mounted to a car. The balance main body has a first rope connection portion, and a second rope connection portion positioned on an opposite side of the pivoting shaft from the first rope connection portion. A main rope body has a first main rope wound around a first drive sheave, and a second main rope wound around a second drive sheave. The first main rope has a first car end portion connected to the first rope connection portion, and a first counterweight end portion connected to a counterweight, and the second main rope has a second car end portion connected to the second rope connection portion, and a second counterweight end portion connected to the counterweight.
