    • A copy sheet counting method for copying apparatus comprising the steps of: counting the copy sheets by means of a first counter (17); terminating feed of the copy sheets when the counting value stored in the first counter comes equal to the preset number of the copy sheets; counting the discharged copy sheets by means of a second counter (25); detecting a paper jam and applying the count value of the second counter to the count value of the first counter. It is not necessary to reselect the number of copies after a paper jam has been cleared. When a copy run is resumed the preset number of copies will be precisely reproduced despite one or more paper jam occurrences during the copy run.
