    • In a lip type seal, a case (31) is tightly fitted and fixed to an inner circumferential surface of a housing (1) through gasket means (32e). A resin lip member (33) constituted by an inner circumferential part (33c) extending in a bent state from a diameter direction part (33a) and its inner circumference to a sealed space (S2) side and forming a seal surface between an outer circumferential part of a rotary shaft (2) and the resin lip member (33); a rear surface support plate (36) disposed to abut on a rear surface of the diameter direction part (33a) of the resin lip member; and a stopper (37b) with a rear surface supported to a support surface (13) of the housing (1) through a second resin lip member (34) and a second rear surface support plate (38) and the top end coming close to or coming into contact with a rear surface of the inner circumferential part of the rear surface support plate (36), are provided on the inner circumference of the housing (1). Therefore, deformation of the rear surface support plate (36) due to pressure acting on the front surface of the resin lip member (33) and the contact of the rear surface support plate (36) with the rotary shaft (2) with the deformation are prevented (Fig. 1).

    • First pumping threads (125) are formed on an inner circumferential surface of the seal lip portion (124) of an elastomer lip member (12). The first pumping threads (125) generate a pumping action in a leakage direction when a shaft (2) rotates. A first resin lip member (14) is arranged at a rear side of the elastomer lip member (12). Second pumping threads (144) generate a pumping action in a direction opposite to the leakage direction when the shaft (2) rotates. The second pumping threads (144) are formed from an inner circumferential surface of a seal lip portion (143) of the first resin lip member (14) to a rear portion of a bent portion (142) thereof. A second resin lip member (18) is arranged at a rear side of the first resin lip member (18) and has a surface sliding on the shaft (2), which is formed smoothly (Fig. 1).

    • A variable displacement compressor has a pin for forming a part of connecting mechanism interposed between a cam member and a rotary support. When one of the cam member and the rotary support forms a part of support while the other forms a part of pin guide, the connecting mechanism has a pin supported by the support, a first guide portion and a second guide portion which are provided in the pin guide. The first guide portion has a first guide surface that guides an end face of the first end of the pin, and the second guide portion has a second guide surface that guides an end face of the second end of the pin. When the pin comes in contact with the first or second guide surface, the pin comes in contact with only one of the first and second guide surfaces.

    • A link mechanism provided between a lug plate and a cam plate in a variable displacement compressor includes a first transmitting portion for transmitting rotation of a lug plate to a cam plate and a second transmitting portion for transmitting compression reactive force from the cam plate to the lug plate, which are arranged along a rotational direction of the drive shaft. The first transmitting portion includes a first transmitting surface and a first receiving surface. The link mechanism also includes a movement restrictor arranged between the first and second transmitting portions. The movement restrictor includes a restricting surface formed in the lug plate and a restricted surface formed in the cam plate and restricts the first receiving surface to move away from the first transmitting surface in the rotational direction of the drive shaft in such a manner that the restricted surface comes into contact with the restricting surface.
