摘要： Changing the locking mechanism 26 in a U-lock, cable lock or other tie lock as often as desired is achieved without compromising the lock's resistance to physical damage. This function is achieved by an auxiliary sleeve 24, 124 that removably fits over the U-lock's crossbar 22 or the cable lock's end bar 122. The sleeve provides an aperture 92, 192, which is too small to permit the locking mechanism to be picked or pried, but which is operatively positioned and sufficiently large to provide access for a key to the keyway 89 of the locking mechanism.

A stop (160, 258, 180) limits relative motion between the shackle (14) and the body (30). It has are several embodiments: a shoulder (258) adjacent to the splines (262), at least one groove (154) having a closed end (160), and a latch (180) extending into and across the hub opening (150). A fastener (136, 126) secures the seat (32) to the bicycle frame strut (8). It has two embodiments: a strap (136) and integral portions (126) of the seat (32) extending around the strut (8) held together by a screw/nut combination (122, 124).

摘要： In a cable lock and complementary bracket system (10), for securely attaching the cable lock (14) to a bicycle frame (8) when not in use, the bracket (12) has an attachment portion that mounts the bracket (12) to a frame strut (8) and a seat with a cavity (60) into which a lock head (16) of the cable lock (14) fits. The cavity (60) is funnel-shaped to limit movement between the lock head (16) and bracket (12). Optionally, there is an arm on the bracket that includes a tongue that extends into a groove in the lock head (16) to securely retain the lock head (16) in the bracket (12). The tongue is biased into the groove and is manually removable by bending the arm to allow removal of the lock head from the bracket.
