    • An X-ray apparatus comprising an anode target (11) for generating X-rays, an electron radiation source (17) for generating an electron to the anode target (11), a rotor (15) which is connected to the anode target, a stator (19) for generating a driving force to rotate the rotor (15), a shaft (13a) which rotatably supports the rotor (15) through a bearing, and an enclosure (9) which keeps at least the anode target (11), the electron radiation source (17) and the rotor (15) at a predetermined vacuum. A housing (3) is provided which contains the enclosure (9) and a cooling medium (7) around the enclosure (9). A cooling medium flow path is provided for circulating the cooling medium (7) along a route inside the shaft (13a), in the vicinity of a recoil electron capture trap (23), and in the vicinity of the anode target (11) in that order. Further, a pump (21a) for circulating the cooling medium (7) trough the cooling medium flow path, and a heat exchanger (21b) for radiating the heat transmitted by the cooling medium (7) circulated by the pump (21a) are provided.

    • In an X-ray tube (31) with a hydrodynamic slide bearing, an electron beam is caused to strike the focal point track area F on its rotary anode, which then emits X rays.     • In an X-ray tomographic apparatus, while rotating a gantry rotary section (15) around a region where an object to be photographed is placed, the anode target (26) of an X-ray tube is rotated at a predetermined high rotation rate and X-rays are emitted from the anode target. In emitting the X-rays, the rotation torque is increased to be larger than that prior to rotation of the gantry rotary section in accordance with the rotation drive power supplied to a stator coil (28b). A decrease in rotation rate of the anode target of the X-ray tube can be prevented even during rotation of the gantry rotary section, radiation at a necessary and sufficient X-ray dose can be assured, and an X-ray tomographic image can be properly obtained.
