摘要： A current/voltage non-linear resistor comprises a sintered body (2) having a main component of ZnO, an electrode (3) applied to a surface of the sintered body (2) and an insulation material (4) applied to another surface of the sintered body. The main component containing, as auxiliary components, Bi, Co, Mn, Sb, Ni and Al, and the contents of the auxiliary components are respectively expressed as Bi 2 O 3 Co 2 O 3 , MnO, Sb 2 O 3 , NiO and Al 3+ , of Bi 2 O 3 : 0.3 to 2 mol%, Co 2 O 3 : 0.3 to 1.5 mol%, MnO: 0.4 to 6 mol%, Sb 2 O 3 : 0.8 to 7 mol%, NiO: 0.5 to 5 mol% and Al 3+ : 0.001 to 0.02 mol%; a Bi 2 O 3 crystalline phase in the sintered body including an α-B1 2 O 3 phase representing at least 80% of the total Bi 2 O 3 phase.

摘要： A sintered body which can be formed into a resistor having a non-linear resistance includes zinc oxide is the principal composition and bismuth, cobalt, antimony, manganese and nickel respectively convened to expressed Bi 2 O 3 , Co 2 O 3 , Sb 2 O 3 , MnO and NiO as auxiliary compositions. The compositions contains 0.05 to 10 mol% of Bi 2 O 3 , 0.05 to 10 mol% of Co 2 O 3 , 0.05 to 10 mol% of Sb 2 O 3 , 0.05 to 10 mol% of MnO and 0.05 to 10 mol% of NiO; the content ratio of the Bi 2 O 3 to the NiO is in a mole ratio of 0.5 or more but 1.5 or less, and the content ratio of the MnO to the Sb 2 O 3 is in a mole ratio of 1.0 or less. Preferably, the composition contains at least one of 0.5 to 500 ppm of aluminum, convened to Al 3+ , and 10 to 1000 ppm of at least one or the other of boron and silver, convened respectively to B 3+ , and Ag + . The composition may also contain 0.01 to 1000 ppm of at least one of sodium, potassium, chlorine and calcium, convened respectively to Na + , K + , Cl - and Ca 2+ .

摘要： The present invention provides a current/voltage nonlinear resistor that is excellent in current/voltage nonlinear characteristics, service life, and surge energy resistance, has better thermal stability at high temperatures, and therefore contributes to downsizing of an overvoltage protection device. The sintered body 1, which contains as the main component not less than 95 mol% ZnO, contains as sub-components bismuth, antimony, cobalt, manganese, and nickel in the proportions, respectively calculated as Bi 2 O 3 , Sb 2 O 3 , Co 2 O 3 , MnO, and NiO, of 0.3 to 1 mol Bi 2 O 3 , 0.5 to 2.5 mol % Sb 2 O 3 , 0.3 to 1.5 mol% Co 2 O 3 , 0.2 to 2 mol% MnO, and 0.5 to 3 mol% NiO. The ratio of the NiO content to the MnO content is 2.0 to 6.0, and the ratio of the Sb 2 O 3 content to the MnO content is 1.5 to 4.0.
