摘要： In some implementations, a first network device that hosts a bridge domain (BD) may receive inter-subnet multicast traffic associated with the BD. The BD may forward, using a supplemental bridge domain (SBD) interface of the first network device, and via an SBD, a first copy of the inter-subnet multicast traffic to a second network device that hosts the BD. The first network device may forward, using the SBD interface and via the SBD, a second copy of the inter-subnet multicast traffic to a third network device that does not host the BD. The first network device may forward, using an integrated routing and bridging (IRB) interface of the first network device associated with the BD, a third copy of the inter-subnet multicast traffic to a fourth network device that hosts the BD (e.g., when the fourth network device is a multihoming peer of the first network device).

A leaf switch includes a memory configured to store a plurality of policies, each of the plurality of policies being associated with a respective source identifier value and a respective destination address; a network interface communicatively coupled to one of the spine switches; and a processor implemented in circuitry and configured to: receive a packet from the spine switch via the network interface, the packet being encapsulated with a Virtual Extensible Local Area Network, VXLAN, header; extract a source identifier value from the VXLAN header; determine a destination address for the packet; determine a policy of the plurality of policies to apply to the packet according to the source identifier value and the destination address; and apply the policy to the packet.

摘要： Techniques are described for avoiding traffic black-holing in a multi-homed Ethernet virtual private networks (EVPNs) in which a customer device (CE) is multi-homed to a plurality of multi-homing provider edge devices (PEs) via respective links of an Ethernet segment. An overlay network is created over the Ethernet segment, and the multi-homing PEs of the EVPN are configured with a common anycast IP address for respective virtual network interfaces. Upon election as active designated forwarder (DF) for the EVPN, the DF PE of the multi-homing PEs advertises toward the customer network an IGP metric for the anycast IP address that is lower than the IGP metric(s) advertised by any of the non-DF standby PE routers segment to direct the CE to forward network packets from the customer network to the DF PE over the respective link of the Ethernet segment.

The network device receives a traffic flow that is to be multicast and sends the traffic flow to the particular assisted replication network device, wherein sending the traffic flow to the particular assisted replication network device permits the particular assisted replication network device to multicast the traffic flow.

摘要： In general, techniques are described for load-balancing responsibility for forwarding of multicast traffic into an active-active Ethernet segment between two or more multi-homed provider edge (PE) routers in an Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN). In one example, a PE router may receive an Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) join report for a multicast group. The PE router may send join synch routes used to synchronize the join report for the multicast group across the Ethernet segment. The PE router may deterministically determine whether the PE router is configured to be an elected multicast forwarder for one of a plurality of multicast groups. If the PE router is elected a multicast forwarder, the PE router may configure a forwarding state of the PE router to ignore a designated forwarder calculation and to forward the multicast traffic into the Ethernet segment regardless of whether the PE router is a designated forwarder.

A host computing device of a data center includes one or more containerized user-level applications. 摘要： Techniques are described for providing fast reroute for BUM traffic in EVPN. For example, a first provider edge (PE) device, elected as a designated forwarder (DF) of an Ethernet segment, configures a backup path using a label received from a second PE device of the Ethernet segment (e.g., backup DF) that identifies the second PE device as a "protector" of the Ethernet segment. For example, a routing component of the DF configures within a forwarding component a backup path to the second PE device, e.g., installing the label and operation(s) within the forwarding component to cause the forwarding component to add the label to BUM packets received from a core network. Therefore, when an access link to the local CE device has failed, the DF reroutes BUM packets from the core network via the backup path to the second PE device, which sends the BUM packets to the CE device.
