    • An electronic vapour inhaler 10 comprises a housing 12 and an induction heating arrangement 34 which is arranged to inductively heat an induction heatable element 28 of a cartridge 26 or capsule inserted into the housing 12 to heat a flavour-release medium 30 within the cartridge 26 or capsule. The inhaler 10 comprises a control arrangement 20 which is arranged to energise the induction heating arrangement 34 to inductively heat the induction heatable element 28 and thereby heat the flavour-release medium 30. The control arrangement 20 is arranged to recognise an inserted capsule or cartridge 26 by detecting a characteristic of the induction heatable element 28 and to control the operation of the induction heating arrangement 34 based on the detected characteristic to provide a predetermined heating profile.
