摘要： A vacuum steam wand for sanitizing a carcass includes a housing having a handle (10) and a thermally conductive vacuum head (12) with steam passages (14) within that maintain the temperature of the vacuum head above a desired sanitizing temperature. The vacuum head (12) includes a wall (42) defining a vacuum region (44) that is surrounded at the interior and exterior perimeter by multiple closely spaced steam nozzles (50, 52) that continuously wash the wall, spray the carcass to loosen contaminants and maintain the temperature of the wall at or above the sanitizing temperature. A thermometer (26) for monitoring temperature is provided and portions of the tool are coated with a nonstick coating. The wall (42) has a lowered height portion (46) which improves the vacuum lifting action and allows the inner surface to act as a scraper to prevent contaminants from collecting on the outer wall surface.

摘要： The present invention provides a handheld dehider comprising: a pair of cutting disks (12,14), a drive mechanism for driving the cutting disks (12,14) in opposed cutting oscillations including an eccentric shaft (22), a main drive gear connected to rotate the eccentric shaft (22), a pair of pushrods (18,20), one for each cutting disk, each pushrod being connected between the eccentric shaft (22) and its respective cutting disk, a first counterbalance mass (48) rotated by the main gear, the first counterbalance mass (48) being located on a first side of the pushrods (18,20); and a second counterbalance mass (54) rotated by the main gear, the second counterbalance mass (54) being located on an opposite side of the pushrods (18,20) from the first counterbalance mass (48), the first and second counterbalance masses cooperating to provide counterbalancing acting at a location between the first and second counterbalance masses to provide effective dynamic counterbalancing of the dehider, a motor (24) for driving the main drive gear; and a housing having the drive mechanism and motor mounted therein.

摘要： A dehider includes a pneumatic motor driving a pair of disk blades in opposed cutting oscillations and a governor that controls the speed of the motor. Governor balls, acting as centrifugal weights, spin with the motor and push against an inclined flange on a valve head to move the valve head towards a valve seat. The motion of the valve head compresses a biasing spring and restricts the flow of pressurized air as the desired speed is exceeded. As speed decreases, centrifugal force decreases and the biasing spring opens the valve to provide additional power to the motor. The disk blades are provided with a cylindrical central lip that substantially increases the area of the central bearing that the blades turn on and produces significantly longer blade life.
