    • In a card connector (29) for connection to a card (21), a housing (39) is provided therein with a contact for contacting the card. For ejecting the card from the card connector, an ejecting mechanism includes an ejecting bar (53) coupled to the housing and movable in directions of insertion and ejection of the card. For controlling an operation of the ejecting bar, a cam mechanism is coupled to the ejecting bar. The ejecting bare is constantly biased by an elastic member (57) towards direction of the ejection of the card. The ejecting bar has a retaining portion (71) for retaining the card. The ejecting bar moves along with the card with the retaining portion retaining the card when the ejecting bar is operated to eject the card from the card connector.

    • A card connector (100) receives and ejects a card therein and therefrom along receiving and ejecting directions (Y R , Y E ). The card connector (100) comprises a housing (10). The housing (10) holds a slider (20) so that the slider (10) is slidable along the receiving and the ejecting directions (Y R , Y E ), while carrying the card thereon. The slider (20) has an ejecting-directional end (20b) as an end thereof in the ejecting direction (Y E ). The card connector (100) is provided with a stopper (70), which is latchingly fitted with the ejecting-directional end (20b) of the slider (20). The stopper (20) serves to prevent the card from projecting out of the slider (20) in the ejecting direction (Y E ) even when the slider (20) partially projects from the housing (10) in the ejecting direction (Y E ), unless the latchingly-fit of the stopper (70) with the ejecting-directional end (20b) of the slider (20) is released. Thus, undesirable projection of the card upon ejection is prevented.
