    • A long-lived connection apparatus and a network system are provided. The network system includes a terminal device and an access point device. A first application APP is installed on the terminal device. The terminal device is configured to: in a screen-unlocked state, send, based on first socket information, a heartbeat packet to a server associated with the first APP, where the heartbeat packet is used to maintain a long-lived connection between the terminal device and the server; and send the first socket information to a first access point device when switching from the screen-unlocked state to a screen-locked state. The first access point device is configured to: after receiving the first socket information, act as a proxy for the terminal device to send the heartbeat packet to the server based on the first socket information. The first access point device can act as the proxy for the terminal device to keep a heartbeat with the server, so that the terminal device does not need to frequently wake up a module such as a processor to send heartbeat packets. Therefore, power consumption of the terminal device is reduced and a battery life of the terminal device is prolonged.

    • This application provides a communication method, a device, and a communications system. The communications system includes a STA device and an AP device. The STA device sends an uplink packet to the AP device by using at least one basic channel element. The AP device detects uplink channel quality of the STA device, and sends a notification message to the STA device when the uplink channel quality meets a first preset condition, to indicate the STA device to send an uplink packet to the AP device by using a target frequency domain resource. In this application, because the target frequency domain resource is at least a part of one basic channel element, when the AP device detects that the uplink channel quality of the STA device is relatively poor, the AP device may allocate the target frequency domain resource with a smaller bandwidth to the STA device, so that the STA device can send an uplink packet to the AP device by using the target frequency domain resource. Therefore, on a premise that transmit power of the STA device remains unchanged, a Wi-Fi signal coverage distance in an uplink direction is improved, and a signal coverage area of a Wi-Fi device is expanded.
